Lists

As some of you may know, I’m a list-maker.  So instead of writing a traditional blog post about my life,  I’ve decided to make a compilation of lists inspired by my trip to Cork this weekend. Here they are:

The Bus driver’s music selection for the trip (on a constant loop)

This soundtrack enhanced the beauty of the Irish country side?

– Here I Go Again (by Whitesnake)

– Don’t Stop Me Now (by Queen)

– Alright (by Supergrass) aka opening credits song in Clueless

– American Pie (by Don Mclean)

– The Boys are Back in Town (by Thin Lizzy)

– I Want to Know What Love Is (by The Foreigners)

How to Make a Hostel Less Hostile

  1. Bring shower shoes (learned this one the hard way)
  2. Bring a towel
  3. Bring ear plugs (room sizes range from 2 people to 16 people in a room)
  4. Don’t be alarmed if the soap dispenser falls off of the bathroom wall when you try to wash your hands (plot twist: soap dispenser = empty)
  5. Bring hand sanitizer (see #4)
  6. Make sure you understand how to open the door to your room (sometimes doors are just difficult)
  7. Check if your hostel has a free food cupboard – those things are awesome.
  8. Find the common room and spend your downtime there. You will probably meet someone new.

How to watch a Hurling Final

  • Dress in your team’s colors
  • Go to a pub
  • Sit/stand near a TV and watch the game
  • Occasionally yell angrily at the screen
  • Cheer when others are cheering
